Hello!

I’m Amy the creative behind Amy Lou Creates. Put simply, I am an artist, painter and creative that is open to be commissioned in a wide variety of different projects and mediums, as well as selling my original paintings and prints.

After training to be a Scenic Artist at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama I graduated in 2020 in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. I had always dreamt of creating and selling my own original artwork so the natural next step was for me to set up Amy Lou Creates. This little business of mine is nearly 4 years old now and because I have just one pair of hands my work remains varied and enjoyable.

I have freelanced across the entire entertainments industry over the last three years as a Scenic Artist and I am always open to short term freelance scenic art projects. From helping to create a floating lake in Dubai to West End productions and beyond; I am always looking for the next challenge to push me creatively as a Scenic Artist.

I've been honing my Illustration work for the last two years after undertaking multiple online short courses. I am enjoying being extremely experimental within my illustration work and am constantly learning. I particularly enjoy character design and harnessing my painterly style in a new way. I am open to all projects with a particular interest in creating work for children.

I am now committing more time to my own original artworks and particularly enjoy taking my sketchbook outside and drawing from life regularly. It is this love of nature and the world around me that drives my studio work forward. I use my unconventional training to work in a larger, more playful and explorative direction to most artists. I’m enjoying creating large expressive pieces of work that communicate my experience as a painter, my work is as much about the process of creating as it is the final piece. I enjoy experimenting with colour and mark making in my work.

I would love to be commissioned for more original artworks particularly to hang in corporate venues, hotels and entertainments spaces. I would love to work with you on your project no matter the size.
